About the FarmStallionsBroodmaresBreeding Successes

HOW BRANIC STUD WAS BORN:

Chatten Stud was started in 1994 by Lynda Rabie and Barry Marais, using Imported Frozen Semen from world class stallions and thoroughbred mares that where chosen very carefully for their performance and from the very best showjumping blood lines.

Lynda Rabie travelled to every corner of the country
looking for, and buying mares from stallions such as Noble Chieftan, Pyrmont, Esplendor, Prosperous and Trocadero. These incredibly well bred mares formed
the basis of the stud.

In 2001 Chatten Stud was changed to Branic Stud, in trying to find a way to honour and keep the foundation stallions of the newly formed Stud alive, what better way than to incorporate their names in the stud, thus Branic Stud was born...

B - Belmondo
R - Rivale d'Or
A - Always One
N - Nelson van de Helle
I - Imported Frozen Semen used
C - Cupido Z

Dirk Zagers from Belgium, with his vast knowledege on the European pedigrees and horses, helped find well bred young colts, not only by top performing stallions, but out of mares that either jumped at a higher level, had produced a foal that had jumped up the grades or produced a licensed stallion, in this way bringing some of the best from Europe to South Africa.

In a reletively short time, with not many mares, Branic Stud has bred a number of approved stallions and horses that have jumped up to A Grade, this is due to the combined enthusiasm, passion and knowledge of both Lynda Rabie and Dirk Zagers.

Well, enjoy going to our website and please feel free to write us a message in our guestbook, especially if you have a Branic offspring, we would love to hear how your superstar is coming along.

About Lynda Rabie the Owner:

Lynda was born on April the 8th, a few years ago.

She could literally ride before she could walk. Since then riding has been her passion and her career of choice.

Always finding her way back to horses, no matter what venture she took on in the corporate world, including the establishment of the Multi Million Rand Empire Autopage, which is one of the well known communication giants in South Africa, and many such success stories.

In 1994 she started Chatten Stud and she's been breeding ever since. Lynda still has the straws from one of the first born by insemination that produced Tiara Royale.
