ABOUT Rotspon
PEDIGREE: The career of his sire Rubinstein I is marked by tremendous highlights. He was runner-up of the stallion performance test, winner of the Optimum of Westphalian Riding Horses in Munster in 1990 and I-a main premium winner in Oldenburg in the same year, as well as being federal vice-champion six year old dressage horse in Verden in 1992. He had a remarkably successful career with different riders up to Grand Prix, before he passed away much too early in 2000. His damsire Argentan I had the reputation of being a phenomenal "maker of mares" in the Hanover breeding region. Pik Bube 1 and Wendekreis likewise enjoyed great esteem in the breeding fraternity. A full-sister of the granddam Jessika was mated with Matcho AA and gave birth to the hereditary transmitter Morning Star, who was stationed at the Celle state stud as a sire. The bloodline of Donnerfriede (by Dominus-Flugelmann I-Feldmeister) furthermore produced the popular performance transmitter Saluto (Celle state stallion), his full-brother Sarasto (private stallion Hanover, Hessia) and Weinbrand, who attained great honour with Nadine Capellmann. Weinbrand was initially stationed as a private stallion in Denmark and also covered in the Rhineland following the end of his sporting career. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________ PERFORMANCE: On the occasion of his approval as a junior stallion in Verden, Rotspon was already considered by many as the "true winner", since he was the absolute favourite of the audience. He substantiated this high assessment at his stallion performance test in October 1998, which he won sovereignly. Summary of Stallion Performance Test 1998: overall score 145,67/ 1st out of 38; dressage score 148,82/1st; jumping score 118,74/7th Like his father, the famous Rubinstein I, Rotspon is a very impressive horse with great rideability, outstanding temperament, movements and a high aptitude for dressage. He also shows good jumping technique which is highly above average. He is an elegantly made sire in a noble black coat with a lot of expression and appearance. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________ PROGENY: The first offspring of Rotspon were born in the year 2000. The foals have beautiful heads and a good conformation (long sloping shoulder, long well set up neck). They are equipped with a very elastic trot and a ground covering walk, and have been very much in demand. His first lot of foals exceeded even the highest of expectations. Numerous progeny have already enriched the Verden foal auctions. Rotspon has been consistent in producing top offspring in Germany, with beautiful heads, a long sloping shoulder as well as a long, well set neck. At the prestigious Ratje Niebuhr-Show of 2002, Rotspon was the second most successful sire represented, with only his first crop. Both the two and three year old classes were won by his daughters, with the two year old becoming the youngest champion in the show's history. Rotspon has begun creating his own branch of the Rubinstein I dynasty with many approved sons and daughters, as well as high-priced auction horses and stellar performance horses. In 2005, Rotspon received a Breeding Value Index of 155 points, with an assurance of 97% heritability, from the German Equestrian Federation. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________
