ABOUT Cartani
As far as his origins are concerned, Cartani has absolutely special status. His parents, Carthago Z and Taggi, are two of the world's best jumpers. The sire, Carthago Z, took part in the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta/USA under Jos Lansink/NED and again in 2000 in Sydney/AUS. In the service of the Holstein Verband initially, he switched to Zangersheide in Belgium. Carthago's dam line 162 also produced the three-time European Champion and WC team third, Cöster/Christian Ahlmann.
Cartani's dam, Taggi, was the best German horse in the Nations Cup at the Olympics in Barcelona/ESP under Sören von Rönne and they won individual bronze and team gold at the WEG in 1994 in Den Haag/NED. When bred to Carthago Z again, Taggi produced Cartani's full sister, Orchidee X, who became the dam of a licensed stallion named Artani (by Acorado I). Taggi's sire, Landgraf I, still leads all German stallions with off-spring that have won more than 4.4 million Euro. The great granddam, Conny, is also the granddam of Santana who produced three S-level jumpers by Athlet Z. The dam line has its roots in East Prussia and goes back to the line founding stallion, Semper Idem, from which the licensed stallion and German Champion in show jumping, Stakkato/Eva Bitter, also comes.
Cartani received a premium when he was licensed in Holstein. He has meanwhile proved his willingness to perform, rideability and jumping ability by placing in tests for young jumpers up to M-level, including first place in a Bundeschampionat qualification with a score of 8.8. His foals meet the highest demands in regard to type, exterior and movement sequence which is proved by the fact that Cartani had the largest number of premium foals of all Holstein stallions. Many of his foals were right up front at championships.
